2. practice delivering messages with appropriate voice and tone.
3. understand on what criteria their presentation will be evaluated. 

Warming-up

We will begin by analyzing a response given by a Miss Teen USA candidate from South Carolina. The following is the procedure you will have to follow when you discuss research questions in your presentation of your final research paper. Therefore, this it is very important that you are able to analyze this Miss Teen USA video clip successfully. In groups, you will need to:

• Identify the question being asked
• Identify the main point of the response
• Identify the supporting evidence in the response

• Everyone gets nervous
• Try not to pace, rock back-and-forth, or lean on the podium
• Don’t read directly from your notes or the screen all the time
• Glancing for reference is fine
• Make eye-contact with the audience
• Make sure you are speaking loudly enough and at a good pace
• Dress appropriately
• Think of this as practice for a conference presentation
